Professor Awa Marie COLL SECK is a leading expert in Infectious Diseases, holding both an MD and a PhD. Prof. Coll Seck has served twice as Minister of Health in Senegal and now serves on several globally significant boards and advisory committees. She has been Director of the Department of Infectious Diseases at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, Executive Director of the Roll Back Malaria Partnership, and Director of the Department of Policy, Strategy and Research of UNAIDS.
Prof. Coll Seck has received numerous honors, including Grand Officier de l’Ordre du Mérite of Senegal, Chevalier de l’Ordre du Mérite of Burkina Faso and of Gambia, as well as the Palmes Académiques and the Légion d’Honneur of France, and the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star of Japan. In May 2025, she received the World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General’s Award for Global Health, in recognition of her lifetime achievements in global health.
