Senior Manager, Supply Chain
Tapiwa is a Senior Manager – Supply Chain, and a member of VillageReach’s Global Technical Team. He is a program lead for the Supply Chain for Community Health Workers (SC4CHW) program implemented in partnership with Last Mile Health (LMH) in Liberia.
Tapiwa earned a Master of Science in Shipping and Transport from Netherlands Maritime University. He brings over 15 years experience in public and private sector supply chains. Prior to Joining VillageReach, he was Head of Country Operations for the SADC Malaria Elimination8 Initiative: Eight countries in southern Africa are pushing the boundaries of what many have considered impossible, the elimination of malaria. He also served as Senior Logistics Advisor in the USAID DELIVER project in Liberia.
For Tapiwa, the biggest incentive of being in the global health sector is that through supporting transformative and incremental supply chain improvement programs in global health, he contributes to making the world a little healthier, a little safer, and a little better for people in under-served communities. As a member of VillageReach’s supply chain community of practice, he takes part in developing process and operational standards, and tools for the organization.
He chose to work with VillageReach because the organization has demonstrated a commitment to sharing results of its work publicly, enabling it and others to learn from both its successes and failures. The mission to save lives and improve health by increasing access to quality health care resonates with his core values.
