In the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where a child lives can still determine whether they receive life-saving vaccines. For many families accessing vaccines can mean traveling long distances, balancing competing priorities or navigating gaps in services.
VillageReach’s new video brings this reality to life through the story of a young child and the community working to protect him — highlighting both the challenges families face and the progress being made to overcome them.
Reaching every child requires more than awareness. It requires health systems designed to serve under-reached communities. Through our partnership with the Ministry of Health, VillageReach is helping strengthen immunization systems in DRC — from identifying children who have missed vaccines to ensuring they receive reliable, quality care. Community health workers are central to this effort, building trust with families, identifying barriers and helping ensure children do not remain unvaccinated.
Closing the vaccine gap is not a one-time effort—it depends on strong, responsive systems that can reliably reach every child, wherever they live.
